Is there such a thing, or even a Gung Fu school. Looking on the internet for martial arts schools is really difficult, so any help is appreciated. thanks.

Re: ok so what about a JKD school near Berkeley or Oakland
Mon, June 27, 2005 - 11:50 PMwell, it will be *really* hard to find one, but there are some original students of Bruce Lee & Si-Gung James Y. Lee still floating around Oakland.

I know it's not a big help, but if you asked around enough, you might be able to find one of them. And once found, it might be real hard to have them take you on as a student. You might try going to the Martial Arts supply place on Telegraph, or calling and asking around to various east-bay schools.
Or, you might just go to www.authenticbeladiri.com/index.html in SF, I did, for almost a year, and learned a lot. Not very convient times tho.
Or, there are a few Gracie Jujitsu / boxing hybrid schools around.
Or, you could do what I did, which was just join a convienent nearby school with things to learn that's friendly and has a great workout; which in my case is a Muay Thai school.
If you can, you really should find a 'real' JKD school to learn from a little, for it really sinks home what you read in the Tao of Jeet Kun Do, and really makes you understand a lot of what's in that book; however, I did a lot of Wing Chun in the past (Yi Gi Ga, mainland style, it's more 'loose') and did JKD for almost a year recently, and while no expert in the slightest, I know feel like I could train anywhere and learn whatever and have it 'fit' into my JKD way...
Hope it helps.
